Group Painting on Porcelain Class

Your group class will be with Anna Young and Wei Lun Ha as the guest tutor.

Anna Young holds a Bachelor of Music and Commerce from the University of Auckland, ceramics is her form of active meditation.  

Her current medium is porcelain and she mostly wheel throw and later alter with hand building.  Her past mentors included Korean ceramicist Jin Ho Jeong and renown New Zealand ceramicist John Parker known for their precision in their making.  She's a member of Auckland Studio Potters and regularly participates in various competitions and exhibitions.  Her stockist is the Depot Art Space at 3 Victoria Road, Devonport, Auckland, New Zealand.

As a tutor, her passion is in sharing the joy of clay and human connectivity through earth play.

Wei Lun Ha is a Vietnam-born Chinese New Zealander.  He holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Auckland.  His practice is based around his keen interest in eco-friendly issues and contemporary identity in Chinese ink paintings which is continually evolving and not easily reducible to definite categories.

He explores the ideas of personal stories in symbolic obects; diversity in cultural motifs; and gesture of fragility in life philosophies.  The works complex interaction with Chinese porcelain patterns weaves historical references and significant moments behind his objects.  The paintings embrace the richness o different cultures and create an intensity that is covered with interpretation and stories.
